The Market is Open-Rain or Shine

The reality of any farmers' market is the need to get produce picked and packed and to the market as soon as possible. There is no "rain delay" for carrots, lettuce, radishes, kohlrabi, or strawberries. Fresh produce is ready when it's ready, and farmers have to get it to customers. So...the Murfreesboro Saturday Market is open every Saturday through October 31 from 8 a.m. until noon. Pull on your rain boots, pack an umbrella, wear your raincoat, but come to the market and support our local growers, makers, and bakers this Saturday on the square. You'll be glad you did. We love seeing those dedicated farmers' market customers who shop local (and fresh) on rainy days. Thank you!

Angela Abbott Joins the Main Street Team

Help us welcome Angela Abbott to the Saturday Market. She is our new Community Tourism & Event Management Assistant for Main Street Murfreesboro and will be helping the market with social media and digital storytelling. Angela looks forward to showcasing the creativity, hard work, and dedication of the farmers, artisans, and vendors who are the core of the market. She believes farmers markets are a beautiful way of building community and uplifting the people and small businesses who help Murfreesboro truly shine. Born and raised in Murfreesboro, Angela is a recent Tourism and Hospitality Management graduate from Middle Tennessee State University with a minor in Entrepreneurship. She is passionate about helping people feel welcomed, seen, and connected more closely to their community. In addition to being at the market, Angela will also be working with other Main Street events. Outside of work, Angela enjoys reading, writing, drinking tea, visiting local coffee shops, thrifting, and crafting.She is honored to be part of Murfreesboro’s downtown community and looks forward to helping visitors experience the Saturday Market with fresh eyes and full baskets. Remember, to stop by our information tent at the market to get your May card punched for a visit and drop it in the silver card bucket if it's your third visit. (No purchases necessary.) Our vendors donate gift cards and merchandise for the six monthly drawings. The value of each month's drawing is from $60-$80 (or more). It's our way of saying thank you to our market customers. We are on the Tennessee Farmers Market Trail!

The Murfreesboro Saturday Market is one of five Tennessee farmers markets on the new Tennessee Farmers Market Trail, that launched last week. The trail highlights five Middle Tennessee farmers' markets, each offering its own mix of fresh produce, handmade goods, and community charm. From seasonal fruits and vegetables to baked goods and artisan products, every stop along the trail is a chance to meet local farmers, support small businesses, and explore something new. Visit each location, check in, and collect a one-of-a-kind sticker as you go. Complete all five stops and earn a special Farmers Market Trail tote—plus, every QR code check-in at the market enters you to win a $200 farmers market gift card to the market of your choice. Check the poster at our information tent to scan the QR code and enter for the July gift card drawing.

The Murfreesboro Saturday Market is excited to be a part of this first step in creating a state-wide trail of farmers markets. The trail connects farmers markets and agritourism destinations across Tennessee, inviting visitors to explore local food, meet farmers, and experience the rich agricultural heritage of our state.
